Capcom released a new trailer for Street Fighter V today via the US PlayStation Blog showcasing the return of Charlie Nash.
In the Street Fighter pantheon, Charlie was the best friend of series mainstay Guile. The two fought in Vietnam together, where Charlie went missing, and was presumed dead. He made his first appearance as a selectable fighter in the Street Fighter Alpha prequel series, which took place between the events of Street Fighter and Street Fighter II.
The new trailer gives us a quick glimpse at a few enhancements that have been made to Charlie’s Street Fighter V repertoire of moves, most notably, a slick teleport which allows him to throw a Sonic Boom and then teleport to the other side of his opponent. Cosmetically, Charlie is also sporting some stitching on his face, indicating that his years on the MIA list have not been too kind.
The trailer also ends with a tease for the next character reveal. A couple of quick one-frame flashes show a silhouette of a figure, which appears to this reporter to be M. Bison, however that cannot be confirmed at this time.
Aside from the new trailer, Capcom also announced that they will be holding a beta trial for Street Fighter V prior to its release. According to Capcom, anyone who pre-orders either the PlayStation 4 or PC version of Street Fighter V will automatically have their names entered for the chance to participate.
Capcom did not give any details as to when the beta will begin.
Street Fighter V is currently in development for Playstation 4 and PC.
