Microsoft saved maybe their biggest announcement for last today, during their E3 2015 press conference. After months of speculation, rumors, and a bit of wishful thinking on the part of fans, Microsoft finally officially announced that Gears of War 4 will be hitting the Xbox One for holiday 2016.
Not much info was divulged as far as Gears of War 4’s story etc, although from the footage released, it appears that we will now be following a new set of hero’s. Epic Games introduced a lengthy video of Gears of War 4 in motion to cap off Microsoft’s press event.

Furthermore, to whet player’s appetites for Gears of War 4, Microsoft also confirmed what many of us had known already thanks to pre-E3 leaks, with the announcement of a remastered edition of Epic Games’s original Gears of War.
Gears of War Ultimate will be a complete re-working of the original 2006 release in full 1080p, 8th generation glory, and will be released on Xbox One on August 25th 2015. A beta for the multi-player portion of the game went live today as well.
