Capcom burst onto the stage at Sony’s Paris Games Week press event today to hit us hard with fist full of info on Street Fighter V!
First, Street Fighter Producer Yoshinori Ono gave fight fans the news for which they have been waiting: Street Fighter V will be throwing down on PlayStation 4 on February 16th, 2016.
Next, Ono revealed the next addition to the Street Fighter V opening day roster of 16, the mystic Indian yogi, and iconic Street Fighter II alumni, Dhalsim.
Finally, Ono confirmed that six additional fighters would be made available as DLC after Street Fighter V’s launch, bringing the total of warriors up to 22 by the end of next year. These characters can either be purchased using real money, or unlocked for free using in-game currency called “fight money.” This fight money can be earned by completing daily tasks, such as landing a specified move a certain number of times, or by bringing a fighter up to a higher level.
Street Fighter V recently conducted a second beta test for the game, which included PC players, and allowed fighters to try out roster members Karin, Ken, Rashid, Necalli, Vega, and R. Mika. Yours truly hosted a special stream of Street Fighter V, which you can view on our Twitch.tv channel.
