The first major E3 2016 announcement has just arrived a few days ahead of the show’s opening.
Square Enix surprised us all with an early present, in the form of an announcement that Final Fantasy XII will be returning in full HD glory.
Dubbed, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, this remastered edition will feature fully high definition movie scenes and character models, a remastered soundtrack, and the Zodiac Job System, previously only available in Japan through the Final Fantasy XII International Edition.
Final Fantasy XII was originally released in 2006 for the PlayStation 2, and was one of the most highly acclaimed titles in the series. In fact, a recent IGN article ranking all the Final Fantasy entries, placed Final Fantasy XII at number 2.
Square Enix plans to release Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Years for PlayStation 4 sometime in 2017. No word yet on a PC edition of the game.
