Volume 4: The “Almost” 90’s

I couldn’t help it.  After 57 albums, I just couldn’t stop myself.  Even though some albums may not have been physically released between the confines of January 1st, 1990 and December 31st, 1999, there are some records that factor heavily into my listening experiences from the 90’s, and some that perfectly capture the feel of the 90’s even if they came a little late or a little early.  In some cases, I guess I’ve made a completely arbitrary and personal connection between these albums and music that was actually from the 90’s.

To keep myself from turning this series into something it isn’t, I did put some restrictions on myself – 10 albums only, and they must fall between either 1985 and 1999 or 2000 and 2005.  As it turns out, I don’t go any earlier than 1986 and I don’t go any later than 2003.  Once I finish up the 1990s, I may or may not decide to do another series on music.  In the event that I don’t, I wanted to squeeze these very few in somehow or another, and they are so very close to the 90’s that I hope nobody will mind.

However, if the idea completely repulses you, skip ahead to Volume 5, where I return to the sacred decade.
