During the E3 2017 PC Gaming Show, Bohemia Interactive, the company known for the ARMA series and Dayz Standalone, broke away from what would be considered their norm and attempted to take on Minecraft with the showcase of their new game, Ylands.
Ylands is a sandbox survival exploration and crafting game where players will be able to make their own levels and games to play with friends. The trailer showcases many different ways to play including survival, racing, sword fighting, platforming, and pirate adventures. Furthermore, the level editor to create your own levels will be built directly into the game and not through a separate program. Ylands has a free trial on the website, and you can also buy early access for $10. Ylands will be available on Steam early access sometime during the summer, but you will get a free Steam copy if you buy access from the website now.
The trailer for Ylands can be seen below.
