Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer Details and Private Beta Dates Released! – E3 2017

Boys and girls, it’s about time we talked about a Call of Duty game I am genuinely excited for!

The past 3 or 4 installations in the series have been truly lackluster for me, as developers for Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer, and Treyarch seemed to have run out of ideas. Call of Duty has deviated far from actual historical events and has taken a Halo-esque route in more recent games (Advanced Warfare, Black Ops III, Infinite Warfare).

So instead of bashing us over the head with jet packs, exo-suits, and lazer beams, Sledgehammer did some homework and went back to CoD‘s roots: WWII.

During E3 this week, publisher Activision and the beloved Sledgehammer revealed some information about the upcoming hit, Call of Duty: WWII. More specifically, the multiplayer gameplay and maps we’ll see on November 3rd of this year. Check out some of the videos below:

Also, for those who have pre-ordered Call of Duty: WWII, the dates of the private beta were also shared with the world. For those who pre-ordered the game for the PS4 you can expect to play a little bit earlier! Here are the dates:

We also learned about some of the cool new additions to multiplayer: War Mode and Headquarters.

War Mode looks to be a 6 vs. 6 team battle where players must cooperate to defeat the enemy. Each War Mode game has a narrative, an objective, and in order to win, you’ve got to work together with the rest of the team.

Headquarters will act as the multiplayer hub. Players can roam around, hang out, practice shooting targets, or socialize with other players. Apparently, up to 48 different players can wait for games, communicate, and just kick it together in the Headquarters!

Another thing to be excited about is the completely revamped “create-a-class,” options. Instead of picking a specialist, any weapon, perks, and bonuses, Call of Duty: WWII will introduce Divisions.

Each Division has their own special weapons, skills, strengths, and weaknesses! Depending on where they pre-ordered Call of Duty: WWII, players will receive a special Divisions Pack that unlocks some primo gear for each Division.

Hopefully, this redesigned multiplayer customization system will level the playing field in an often-broken multiplayer environment. Like most games releasing later this year and next, we shall see what we are promised and what we actually get!

My hopes for Call of Duty: WWII are high! How about yours? Let us know in the comments section below!
