David Jaffe, the mind that brought the world classics like Twisted Metal and God of War has unveiled his latest creation; Drawn to Death, at today’s PlayStation Experience in Las Vegas.
Drawn to Death is a unique looking arena based shooter. The premise is that the game takes place inside the notebook of a high school teenager. The entire world and all the characters you play as are the drawings that this kid creates in the notebook. This premise has given the game a one-of-a-kind visual impact, as well as let the designers’ imaginations run wild with an array of creative weapons like a flamethrowing dragon.
Jaffe took to the PlayStation Blog to discuss Drawn to Death;
“We want Drawn To Death to play like the offspring of an old school arena shooter (with updated, modern sensibilities) and a hardcore brawler/fighting game. We want our signature launch mode – a 4 Player Free For All Deathmatch – to be action packed while also giving Players the need and ability to master advanced environment movement, learn and exploit enemy tells, and form clever strategies that pay off in big victories!”
Drawn to Death is being created by Jaffe’s new company, The Bartlet Jones Supernatural Detective Agency. The game is currently in pre-alpha stage and no release date is on the horizon.
