Dying Light 2 Revealed – E3 2018

Among today’s game announcements during Xbox’s E3 conference, Dying Light 2 seemingly came out of nowhere. So what did we see from Techland’s newest entry into the zombie infested landscape of gaming?

The parkour system seems to remain intact, which is good since that is what made the first game so enjoyable. We saw a trailer full of Mirror’s Edge style traversal over a beautiful landscape referred to as the “Modern Dark Ages”.

The big thing from the presentation, however, was the idea of how much impact your decisions make, not only on the story going forward, but on the appearance of the world itself. Just one mission done one certain way can have huge implications on everything around you. Many games have touted this as a selling point, but it really seems like Techland is going all out here.

Take a look at the reveal of Dying Light 2 during today’s show:

Of course, there will be zombies. The original game was one of the few zombie games that actually scared me. At night, the hyped up zombies would chase you down and show you no mercy, and that looks to be the case here as well. It a wonderfully tense feeling in a world that appears to be on the brink of crumbling around you, and something I look forward to seeing more about.
