Warcraft, Blizzard’s flagship project. They have put so much time into this single franchise that it is absolutely crazy. With no new core releases since 2004, it is about time to revitalize the franchise. How about a movie?
Initially announced in 2006, we finally have our first look at the film, which began filming late 2014. The Warcraft community, particularly World of Warcraft, will be pleased to see that film director Duncan Jones has already completed so much of the project.
Below is our first look at Orgrim Doomhammer, one of the most powerful leaders of the Orcish Horde, played by Rob Kazinsky. It’s amazing to see Kazinsky all designed out in a mixture of practical and CGI effects, courtesy of Industrial Light and Magic.
While not much is known about the film so far, we do know that it will take place during the first war between the Alliance and the Horde. Many of the iconic characters from the Warcraft mythology will be brought to life on screen by the best of Jone’s ability. The film is currently expected to be released in June of 2016.
