From Software gave fans a tantalizing tease at the 2017 Game Awards for a new project dubbed Shadows Die Twice.
Speculation abounded during the ensuing months as to what the title would actually be? Was it a revival of Tenchu? Was it a sequel to Bloodborne? Could it even be a new Metroid?
We now have our answer!
It’s a brand new IP called Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, which was revealed Sunday during Microsoft’s E3 2018 press event.
While not much is known about the game quite yet, we can tell that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice takes place in feudal-era Japan and stars a warrior who is half-way between life and death. At one point during the trailer, we see the main character examining his arm, bone fully exposed. Later on while challenging a mammoth monster, he succumbs to the attacks of the beast, only to resurrect moments later.
The action in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice shows the same wonderful level of polish that we have come to expect from From Software, and fans will no doubt be eager to get as many morsels of information on the game as possible as we progress through E3 2018.
No firm release date was given for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice other than sometime in 2019.
You can drool over the announcement trailer below, which was definitely one of the highlights of Microsoft’s E3 2018 press event.
