Frontier Development Announces New Theme Park Sim, Planet Coaster – E3 2015

Frontier Development, the game studio behind games like Thrillville, Roller Coaster Tycoon, Kinect Disneyland Adventures, etc, have announced their newest theme park sim, Planet Coaster! The announcement comes from Frontier Development during the E3 2015 PC Gaming ShowPlanet Coaster is expected to be released some time in 2016 and looks like it could be the spiritual successor of Roller Coaster Tycoon.

Planet Coaster is the next evolution in coaster park simulation games from the team behind the genre’s benchmark,” the game website boasts, “We’re giving you the best-ever design tools, crafting the most sophisticated management simulation, and bringing your parks to life with crowds you’ll love to thrill. Planet Coaster will give you total freedom to make your park unique, and a connected global village where you can share your creativity with the world.” The website finishes off by stating “This is the game we dreamed of making. We hope you’ll join us for the ride.”

Planet Coaster is available for pre-order right now with two different benefit packages available. You can either pre-order the game for €19.99, or get early access and the final product for €49.99. There are other options available to support the title, but they do not come with the game. These options include having your own NPC in the game (employee or visitor,) having a “VIP Pass” in the game, having your name on the “foundation stone” that will be in everyone’s park, or receiving access to a private forum, sneak peaks on the game progress, and an exclusive t-shirt and wrist band.
