Job Posting Confirms Fortnite Coming to Nintendo Switch

Iron Galaxy is working on porting the sensational mega-hit FortniteĀ to Nintendo Switch, according to a job posting by developer Iron Galaxy Studios.

Pointed out by leaker LeakyPandy, the job posting for a Director of Game Development notes the studio’s work in developing original titles like Killer Instinct, as well as their work on porting games like Skyrim and FortniteĀ to the Nintendo Switch.

NerdBacon originally broke the story that a Nintendo Switch version of FortniteĀ was in development back in April. The story goes on to detail that there has been some debate as to whether or not Fortnite’sĀ Battle Royale mode, which has become a global obsession this year, would make to the Switch as a stand-alone download, or something for which would have to pay.

It’s also interesting to note that a new weapon has been released for FortniteĀ , the Renegade Pick Axe, which looks suspiciously like the roller from Nintendo’s hit franchise, Splatoon 2. Splattered paint on the character in the FortniteĀ promo image appears to be in line with colors used in Nintendo’s competitive paint shooter. This leads credence to the Switch version of FortniteĀ featuring Nintendo-themed items and skins, which we detailed in our original report.

Furthermore, a report released over the last week by Japanese outlet CoroCoro, Splatoon 2 is set to reveal a “shocking announcement” on June 9th. While we can only speculate as to what the announcement actually is, it’s not hard to stretch the imagination into believing that a FortniteĀ crossover event with Splatoon 2 could be on the horizon as part of an official announcement for the games arrival on the Nintendo Switch.

With Fortnite fever showing zero signs of breaking anytime soon, and Nintendo on the precipice of launching their new Nintendo Switch Online Service in September, the arrival of FortniteĀ on the Switch could be a perfect way of persuading players to pay for the online service.

At this point, the question is not whether or not FortniteĀ is coming to the Nintendo Switch, it’s when. And with E3 2018 right around the corner, we likely won’t have to wait too long to get our answer.

Does the prospect of Fortnite coming to the Nintendo Switch send you into some sort of sweaty stammer? You may have Fortnite fever!

Be sure to tell us about it in the comments section below.
