Released alongside the launch of the PlayStation 4 in 2013, Knack stood out against the rest of the shooter and sports-laden launch roster.

Knack was an action/platform game, that hearkened back to an older game design philosophy. Although it looked lovely and featured some very nice moments, there was something lacking about the game (which you can read about in our full review)

Fortunately, Sony Japan Studio is getting another chance – a sequel, Knack 2 was announced Saturday morning during the keynote address at PlayStation Experience 2016.

We don’t know a whole lot about Knack 2 quite yet, although it’s apparent that the game will feature 2-player co-op gameplay, which just may be the jolt of inspiration the series needs to really take off.

No release window has been given yet for Knack 2, but that shouldn’t stop you from taking a look at the announcement trailer below:
