Spider–Man… Spider-Man… Swung into E3 and delivered like only he can! Marvel’s Spider-Man was one of the four major pillars that held up what was the Sony Playstation E3 2018 showcase and it definitely held it’s own. The demo that was shown off to close the showcase gave us a good chunk of fluid combat and movement. During the demo we got a glimpse of the enemies you’ll be taking on as well as a collection of villains from the Spider-Man universe. Mr. Negative, Electro, Rhino, Vulture, and Scorpion all made appearances and did their best to get their hands on our friendly neighbor. Now while that’s five different big baddies, this gives us the tease of getting a Sinister Six in Insomniac’s newest game. Who could that sixth member be? That’s not the only question we have over at NerdBacon. We know you can play as Mary Jane Watson, Peter Parkers on again/off again girlfriend, but how do those sections work? Also what about the other Spider-Man in the room, Miles Morales? We know he’s in the game but to what extent?
Marvel’s Spider-Man takes place in “Marvel’s New York”, according to Marvel Games executive creative director Bill Rosemann. Which means we will likely see familiar logos, names, and locations along our journey. There are currently three different editions to wet your appetite. You can snag the normal edition for $59.99. The Digital Deluxe version, which includes three DLC chapters, new missions, costumes, and villains all for $79.99. Or if you want to show your love for Mr. Parker you can get the Collector’s Edition which includes everything mentioned prior, alongside a steel case, an art book, and a statue of Spidey himself. Coming out on September 7th, 2018, you’ll be able to swing from building to building as your spidey sense goes off.
Did this showing at Sony’s E3 event give you the spidey tingles to pick this up when it releases later this fall? Will this be the start of it’s own video game universe? Let us know in the comments below exactly what you think about the man in the red and blue spandex. As always stay locked to NerdBacon for everything Spider-Man, E3, and of course all things video games.
