The final installment of the 2nd performance DLC was just released on the North American Nintendo 3DS eShop. The new Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call DLC features tracks from various Square Enix titles from the past, such as Chrono Trigger, Romancing Saga 3, Final Fantasy Legend II, Final Fantasy X-2, NierSeiken Densetsu 3, and Live a Live. You can add these songs to your Theatrhythm collection for $0.99 a piece.

The full list of the added music is as follows:
Battle Music Sequence Songs
“real Emotion” (Final Fantasy X-2)
“Struggle to the Death” (Final Fantasy Legend II)*
“Devil Lord Confrontation II” (Romancing SaGa 3)*
“Boss Battle 2” (Chrono Trigger)
“Shadowlord” (Nier)

Field Music Sequence Songs
“Corridors of Time” (Chrono Trigger)
“Meridian Child” (Seiken Densetsu 3)
“Birds in the Sky, Fish in the River” (Live A Live)

“Struggle to the Death” and “Devil Lord Confrontation II” will be free downloads for an unspecified limited time.

It’s both strange and wonderful that Square Enix has pulled songs from games like Nier, a hidden gem on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and the even more overlooked Live A Live, that was released only in Japan for Super Famicom*. These fairly obscure games have wonderful scores, and its great to see them shown some attention.

What Square Enix songs would you like to be able to tap along to in new Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call DLC? I’d kill for some Chrono Cross, myself. “Star Stealing Girl”, anyone? Let us know in the comments!

*Takashi Tokita directed the incredibly unique Live A Live, and it’s definitely worth a play. If you’re not fluent in the language of the video game gods, there is a fan translation of the game available for emulation. Check it out!
