New Red Dead Announcement Imminent?

News regarding Rockstar Games’ plans for a new title in the Red Dead series may be just over the horizon.

Early this morning, the publisher changed the imagery of all of its media outlets, including: Twitter, Facebook, and even Rockstargames.com to a simple red background with a faded, but familiar Rockstar logo in the center.

No explanation was given as to the meaning of the Red Dead reference as the publisher is content in letting the image speak for itself, as well as allowing the speculation torch to be carried by online commentators and sites like NerdBacon.

The big question at this point is: will Rockstar announce an HD remaster for 2010’s beloved, Red Dead Redemption, or are they gearing up to reveal an all-new follow up to the series?

Earlier this year there were several leaks that were released that claimed that a new Red Dead was in the works. A supposed map made the media rounds, pointing to the possibility that the next Red Dead would be a prequel to Red Dead Redemption, and chronicle protagonist John Marston’s days in the Bill Williamson gang.

While it remains to be seen just what Rockstar has planned for the Red Dead series in the future, there is a very good chance that we will have a good idea at some point this week.

Do you think Rockstar Games is on the verge of announcing a sequel to Red Dead Redemption? Or do you think that we are about to see an HD remaster? Let your mouth do some shooting from the hip in our comments section below.
