It’s only been a month since the proverbial curtain fell on the thrilling climax of the 2014/2015 NHL hockey season. Only 30 short days since we saw the NHL’s ultimate prize, the Stanley Cup, hoisted triumphantly above the head of Chicago Blackhawks Captain Johnathan Toews, as the Blackhawks celebrated their third Stanley Cup victory in the past 5 years. Yet for any hockey fan, 30 days without hockey can seem like an unbearable eternity. After all, for some of us, hockey isn’t just a sport, it’s a way of life.
Fortunately, EA Sports is helping to ease the countdown to the new NHL season by showing off their next ode to all things hockey related, NHL ’16.
The latest trailer for NHL ’16 showcases some of the new defensive movements that will be available for virtual ice-warriors this fall. New side-to-side skating movements will help players position your defenders right in the middle of the shooting lanes to make it extra difficult for attackers. Consequently, this also means that offensive players will be able to use those movements to position themselves for that perfect, net-clearing shot.
NHL ’16 will also revive for next-gen, a number of features that were omitted from last year’s edition, namely the popular EA Sports Hockey League.
We should be getting more info on NHL’16 as the game approaches it’s September 15th release date.
NHL ’16 will be available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
