The next survival horror game from the creator of the Clock Tower series, Hifumi Kono, will be coming to Playism and Steam on March 29. Originally only scheduled for release on mobile and PlayStation Vita, fans wanted a version of the game not restricted by technology, so after a successful Kickstarter, this PC release was made possible. This PC release is the first available version of the game, and mobile and Vita release dates are TBA. The four versions of the game that will be available for purchase on March 29 are:

-$24.99 for NightCry
-$39.99 for NightCry and its digital soundtrack
-$49.99 for NightCry, the digital soundtrack, and the digital art book
-$59.99 for NightCry, the digital soundtrack, the digital art book, and a PDF of the storyboards for Night Cry’s live action trailer

NightCry is a point and click survivor horror game that borrows heavily from Clock Tower, but contains an original story about protagonist Monica Flores and her friends trying to stay alive on a cruise ship that has been infiltrated by cultists. Just as in Clock Tower, the most prolific enemy wields a huge pair of scissors, but instead of taking the form of a deformed boy or a mangy human male, it’s a much more disturbing being that might just be a supernatural creature.

Not only is this project led by one of the masters of survival horror (here’s what we thought of the first game in the series), but the rest of the staff is a dream team. Music is done by Nobuko Toda and Michiru Yamane, who have worked on Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night respectively. Masahiro Ito, famous for his work as the creature designer for the Silent Hill series, is also part of the NightCry team.
