We’ll have to wait a bit longer for the next South Park ode to role-playing games.
Ubi Soft announced via their Ubi Blog Thursday that they have decided to delay the release of South Park: The Fractured But Whole until the first quarter of 2017.
Ubi Soft cited the team’s desire to meet the high expectations of South Park fans as the reason for the setback.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole is the sequel to 2014’s hit RPG, South Park: The Stick of Truth.
Although the new title will see the South Park crew taking on super hero roles, (Cartman will be reprising his role as the Coon) South Park: The Fractured But Whole will still retain the classic RPG mechanics that were so endearing in the original title.
No solid date has been announced yet beyond the ambiguous quarter 1 time-frame, however, the delay may not be too long, given Ubi Soft’s current plans to release For Honor (February 14th, 2017) and Ghost Recon: Wildlands (March 7th, 2017) in that same three month period.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole was previously scheduled for release in December.
