PlayLIVE 2016 – St Jude Fundraiser

twitchicon_StJudeIt’s that time of year again, everyone!

St Jude Research Hospital in Tennessee is holding its 3rd annual fundraiser event called PlayLIVE during the month of May that calls on Twitch streamers from all around to play the games they love online and raise money to help an amazing charity with the help of their viewers.

St Jude is one of the most well known children’s hospitals in the US, famous for its cancer research and treatment. All kids who come for treatment are able to get it at no cost to their families. It truly is a saving grace for many families who have kids suffering from different forms of cancer.

NerdBacon is proud to be participating in this event once again, led by none other than our resident Twitch expert and main host, InfiniteKnife!

Throughout the month of May, he will be dedicating more time than just the usual Wednesday nights to the Twitch channel to help reach our donation goal of $500.

In addition to picking up an extra night or 2 during the coming weeks, be on the lookout for a few special marathon streams, which may include playthroughs of classic game series, like Mega Man for NES or even a single game that takes more than just a couple hours to beat.

It should be lots of fun and we’re encouraging everyone to get involved! Come hang out in a stream, share our page with your friends and family, and of course, please contribute to our fundraiser if you’re able!

We’ll see you there!

My personal favorite games are those in the Survival Horror and Sports (baseball) genres, but I can find at least a game or 2 in just about any category that I love to play.

I grew up on Nintendo consoles (NES and SNES) and have been an Xbox guy since the first one was released in the early 2000s. It’s hard to stay away from the classics as the 16-bit era is probably still my favorite overall.
