PlayStation Now will connect a large variety of devices together.

At Sony’s E3 press conference on Monday, Sony announced that their PlayStation Now service would go into open beta on July 31st of this year. PlayStation now is a new service that PlayStation will offer that will allow you to rent and stream PlayStation 3 titles. The open beta will only include PlayStation 4 users but will eventually open up to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita users.

With PlayStation Now, owning a physical PlayStation console will no longer be necessary. When the service launches, select Sony televisions such as Bravia will be able to stream games without being dedicated to a console. All that’s needed to play is a Dual Shock 3.

In the open beta, PlayStation 4 beta testers will have access to over 100 PlayStation 3 games some of which include Dead Space 3, God of War Ascension, Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes, and Ultra Street Fighter IV. During the duration of the beta Sony will be working with developers to test rental time ranges and pricing.

The PlayStation Vita already is compatible with PlayStation 4 remote play. With the addition of PlayStation Now, the PlayStation Vita will have full access to both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 games. playstation tv
