No Man’s Sky has been rather enigmatic, ever since its debut on Spike TV’s Video Game Award’s show back in 2013. Part of that mysterious aura is because it’s hard to define exactly what No Man’s Sky actually is. We know that there is a “vast” galaxy to explore, a fact that developer Hello Games Sean Murray has ingrained in our collective conscience; and that there are an almost infinite number of worlds to discover within this vast, procedurally generated galaxy, along with the flora and fauna contained within them. We also know that there are elements of shooting, crafting, and trading to occupy your exploration as well.
However, the biggest enigma of all surrounding No Man’s Sky is when we will actually get to play it.
Sony has partially lifted that shroud at their Paris Games Week press event today, announcing that No Man’s Sky will be launching on PlayStation 4 in June of 2016.
No specific June date was mentioned, however Sony did marry their announcement with a brand-new trailer that alluded to the story behind No Man’s Sky.
Check out the footage below, and prepare yourself to explore the vastness of the cosmos next June.
