National retailer GameStop is preparing to introduce their own store credit card; according to a report leaked to Destructoid earlier today.
GameStop will reportedly link the new card with their Power-Up Rewards program and will offer current members between 5,000 and 15,000 points as an incentive to sign up, depending on whether you have a basic or Pro level of membership.
Materials leaked to Destructoid also indicate that GameStop is planning on charging cardholders an annual percentage rate of 26.99%, which is about double what the national average is.
No timeline has been provided as to when GameStop expects to launch the new credit card, however it’s probably a safe bet that we can expect to see the roll-out take place closer to the fall mega gaming season.
