Rodea: the Sky Soldier Flies on to Wii U and Nintendo 3DS this Fall

NIS America held a press event this evening to announce that they will be publishing the North American version of Rodea: the Sky Soldier, for the Wii U this fall.

Rodea: the Sky Soldier is the latest game from Yuji Naka, the creative force behind iconic Sega titles like Sonic the Hedgehog series, Nights into Dreams, and Phantasy Star.

Developed by Naka’s studio Prope, along with Kadokawa, Rodea the Sky Soldier began its development as a Wii title, before later having development switched over to the Wii U. Naka gave a basic description early on in Rodea: the Sky Soldier’s development in a 2010 interview; describing it as ” very original action game based in the sky.”

Videos that have been released so far, show a very interesting, fast-paced action game featuring a character flying and fighting through the air and appears on the surface, to be reminiscent of Nights into Dreams.
