Oh…hell yes. What felt like coming seemingly out of nowhere, Ubisoft has just revealed the sequel to South Park: The Stick of Truth at the opening of their E3 2015 press conference. The sequel will be known as South Park: The Fractured But Whole.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole will continue to follow the New Kid, who has now moved to South Park. This time around though, our favorite South Park gang is no longer playing in their fantasy world, but have now donned their own superhero identities. The game will still maintain the RPG and turn-based elements from the original game, as well as incorporating new elements from the superhero arc known as “Coon and Friends”. Its nice to see them expand upon this arc, as “Coon and Friends” is perhaps one of my personal arcs of the previous few seasons.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole is currently being developed by Ubisoft’s own San Francisco studio, along with South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. This is a major surprise as South Park: The Stick of Truth was developed by the geniuses over at Obsidian.
When can we expect to get our hands on South Park: The Fractured But Whole? A released date has not been officially confirmed yet, but the game is now available for pre-order. Be sure to check out the E3 2015 trailer released during Ubisoft’s press conference below.
