During the E3 2017 PC Gaming Show, a new expansion pack for XCOM 2 was announced titled XCOM 2: War of the Chosen. According to Jake Solomon, the director of XCOM 2, the expansion will be the largest expansion ever released for XCOM 2, and it will be released on August 29th for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. XCOM 2: War of the Chosen will add tons of enemies, new soldier classes, a new strategy system, a new story, and more.
The new story will revolve around the Chosen, which were designed to be the ultimate enemies of XCOM. The chosen have distinct personalities and skill-sets, and plays will learn these different characters through multiple encounters with them. XCOM will also be joined by three other factions in this expansion each with their own philosophies and tactics, and it will be your job to unify and recruit them.
